A modern approach to analysis, in which AI is a common part of the analyst's work, not a separate topic. The course is intended for analysts who do business and IT analysis at the same time. It does not focus on one technique in depth, but on the connections between analytical outputs: when which artifact is created, what results from what and what is passed on to whom. Participants in one case study will go through the entire chain from taking over the assignment through the business dictionary, requirements, process and data view to the specification passed on to development. They use AI at every step: to speed up work, to design the first versions of outputs and to check their consistency. Equally important, they will learn to recognize where AI cannot be relied on. The goal is for participants to leave with a comprehensive idea of ??the modern work of an analyst and with a consistent set of outputs that development can build on. The course does not assume knowledge of specific modeling techniques.

The course is intended for business and IT analysts who hold both roles in the company at the same time, and for analysts whose previous practice is one-sided, i.e. predominantly technical or predominantly business. It is also suitable for beginning analysts, product owners and developers or testers who are transitioning into analysis.

  • what outputs does an analyst create, at what stage and to whom does he/she hand them over

  • take on the assignment and map the current state

  • create a business dictionary and work with it

  • collect, sort, prioritize and write down requirements

  • capture the process in BPMN and connect it to the requirements

  • convert the business dictionary into an ER diagram

  • use wireframes to collect and verify requirements

  • compile a functional and non-functional specification for development

  • involve AI in individual steps of the analysis and critically verify its outputs

  • Basic orientation in the course of IT projects

  • Knowledge of BPMN, UML or data modeling is not required

Analytical output chain

  • What artifacts does the analyst create and at what stage of the project
  • Who takes them from whom and passes them on to whom
  • Where in the chain does AI help and where can it not be relied upon

  • Process modeling with AI support

Data view

  • From business dictionary to ER diagram
  • Entities, attributes and relationships in the basic scope
  • AI in data modeling
