This three day course introduces participants to the discipline of Business Relationship Management (BRM) and prepares them for the BRMP™ certification (administered by APMG in partnership with the BRM Institute). It covers the principles, frameworks, and tools used by BRMs to align business demand and value delivery, embed relationship capability in organisations, and drive value through maturity. Prior to class, learners receive pre-course reading to familiarise themselves with key concepts.

  • Explain what business relationship management is and the value it brings to the organisation
  • Articulate why organisations should (and how they can) evolve toward relationship entred models
  • Demonstrate how BRM integrates across organisational structures and strategies
  • Apply BRM thinking to the triple bottom line: people, purpose, planet
  • Understand the role, mindset, skills, and competencies required of a BRM
  • Use core BRM approaches, models, and tools such as the BRM Capability Framework, Value Plans, and Relationship Strategy on a Page
  • Assess BRM capability and build a draft BRM Capability Workbook
